Ernst Lima (*Aquarius) is a transmedia artist, composer and sound designer based in Vienna, Austria. In liminal and often mantric installations Ernst Lima expands the boundaries between cross-worldly and inter-medial existence. Through multi-instrumental sounds exploring the transition of bodies and their physical and mental reactions to technological self-extension, Ernst Lima's presentations create symbiotic relationships between physical and virtual corporeality, expanding the genres of sound, installation, live concerts and visual works.
Fluid but always deeply set, Ernst Lima's music eschews single genres and identities. It wades through influences spanning experimental electronic, electroacoustics and film scoring, combined with the raw guitar loops from which her songwriting process often originates.
